For CN Communications, as with countless others, the terrorist act on 9/11/01 will always be remembered. The normal route to our office in New York City was through the World Trade Center on the PATH trains. Fortunately, on that day, we had no meetings and our people watched in horror from televisions in our New Jersey office at what could have been.

When I was asked if I wanted to assist in the production of a film with NOVA on the reconstruction of Ground Zero, I jumped at the opportunity. Along with my co-executive producer, Timothy Smith, I am pleased to announce that PBS will broadcast the NOVA documentary "Engineering Ground Zero," on Wednesday, September 7, at 9 pm. It is truly an emotional film about what happened ten years ago and what has followed. It is the story of the epic technological and creative undertaking to rebuild the site to honor those we lost and forge a new and thriving center for the future.

It is a film that I'm very proud of and I hope that you will join me on September 7. In honor of my business partner, John Neiswanger, who passed away last year, I want to dedicate this film in his memory and to all the men and women who died on that historic day in American history.

Tony Cicatiello

Anthony S. Cicatiello, chairman of CN Communications, Newark, is executive producer of the PBS NOVA documentary “Engineering Ground Zero,” premiering nationally on PBS stations, September 7, at 9 pm ET/PT.

An epic story of engineering, innovation and human perseverance, the film features extraordinary, behind-the-scenes footage of the high-pressure, cutting-edge work at Ground Zero as well as interviews with the leading players charged with designing, shaping and managing the colossal rebuilding effort.

Cicatiello worked with the leadership of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to help the film crew gain access to the historic site and to the brilliant cast of characters charged with making the massive project happen.

He also coordinated with New Jersey Institute of Technology, the state’s leading public science and technology university, which is providing support for the historic film as part of its role as New Jersey’s most comprehensive engineering and architecture school.
